The US Supreme Court is not particularly loyal to the constitution and the principles which underly it. It regularly undermines the People's rights. Perhaps the Supreme Court's TikTok decision is one recent example.
It is perhaps one of the most obvious and egregious examples of treason committed by the Supreme Court in recent memory.
The primary purpose of the First Amendment is to protect the People from the government's undue propaganda and speech control. Allowing the First Amendment to be bypassed upon flimsy excuses of "national security" when there existed no actual threat, further, when the only thing threatened was the government's own propaganda, is more than some mere error. It is an active intentional sabotage of the First Amendment and treason against it, straight out of Orwell's 1984.
The US Supreme Court has not had a good track record of upholding the First Amendment. It has often ignored it under flimsy grounds of "obscenity" or "history of the nation". But TikTok, Inc. v. Garland is an unusually potent example, because it shows the government is willing to undermine the very freedom of the People to exchange ideas freely and undermine the basis of democracy.
Democracy is not only about voting, it is also about exchanging ideas, both with others of the electorate, but also with humanity as a whole. And that's what TikTok, Inc. v. Garland gets very, very wrong.
The well documented purpose of the government's ban on TikTok was to block "communist and socialist" propaganda. But it's not the right of the Government to do so. The People have every right to listen to anti-capitalist messages and vote out the capitalists from office.
Democracy is a voting system, capitalism is an economic system. They are not the same, and capitalism isn't democracy. Protecting capitalism isn't protecting democracy, it's protecting an elite oligarchy's wealth and protecting their exploitation of the common People. It is treason against the People.
The Supreme Court had a job to do, that job was to protect our democracy against tyranny. It failed to do so. It doesn't matter what arguments it makes to reach that conclusion, the betrayal is fundamental. If it were up to me, the justices which voted in favor of this would be impeached, prosecuted, convicted, and hanged for treason.
